It’s been a while since I posted, miss me? Moving to a new state and starting a new job, turns out, is pretty time-consuming. Who would’ve thought? I have had to put my photography on a bit of a back-burner, but I hope to get things going again here soon! I was out in the Rockies this last weekend and it was amazing.
The shot below is a small step in the right direction. I hope to better hone my landscape skills out here with such ample subjects!
First of all, Happy December! Hasn’t this year flown by? Sheesh.
Anyways – I just visited the Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time this last weekend…and it was absolutely beautiful, epic, awe-inspiring. The image below is a glimpse into this place’s beauty which delivers abundantly on a grand scale and on smaller, more intimate levels. I definitely plan on going back for more exploration. I captured this image while standing on
For those of you that have been here before, are there any recommended hikes/spots you would suggest visiting? I am very open to suggestions!
This is me getting the shot above. Standing on the ice-covered stream made it that much more fun!
I came across this beautiful entrance to a ranch in Kauai, HI and had to grab this image. The contrast of the colorful blooming trees against the green background really caught my attention when I was passing by, as I am sure it would anyone.
I still love the color in the first image below, but I altered the same shot to create the second image below. It is monotone for the most part, but I found myself loving this version of the image too! I feel like a lot more of the vegetation detail and lines of the landscape are visible in this version. I think each version plays a role to different tastes and moods, so I wanted to share both with you and not deprive you of either 😉
For me, the color image is more lively and fun, pretty, gorgeous and full of life. Makes me happy looking at it. The monotone image is more contemplative, older, wiser – more of a slow down and introspect kind of feeling.
Which do you like better and why?
Just appreciating my view.
My day job recently took me to Colorado. During the down times in between appointments, I was able to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings I was in to snap some photos. Colorado is a beautiful state with amazing mountain peaks and rolling hills. I made it briefly into Wyoming for a few hours and was also impressed by the natural beauty. While in CO, I was able to travel around a majority of the state, which is why this post has some very differing photos – but that is also one of the reasons I like this group of photos quite a bit. The air was so crisp and fresh and I feel like I can take in a deep breath of the same when looking back at these photos. Enjoy the natural beauty!
